A simple protocol

1. Close your laptop or stack your slides.
2. Set a five-minute timer.
3. Write the three main ideas from the lecture.
4. Add one definition and one example.
5. Open the slides only to fill gaps.

Common mistake

Highlighting while the lecture is still open. That creates recognition, not retrieval.
